The Sneaker Colabs We DON’T Need to See in 2022

Nike SB Dunk Low Meta

The footwear industry is a strange place, meaning that we’ve come to expect the unexpected – especially as the digital landscape prepares to take over the real world. For instance, what if Mark Zuckerberg starts flexing SB Dunks in the metaverse? Can Jeff Bezos restore his public image by appealing to the ‘everyman’ with a pair of Air Force 1s? Will lacing a pair of Bitcoin Air Jordan 11s finally get everyone to hush on their crypto portfolios?

While there's already a stack of sneakers we’re looking forward to in 2022, rest assured that there are some sneaker collaborations we definitely don’t need to see in 2021. Check them out below.

Jeff Bezos x Nike Air Force 1 'Amazon'

Nothing says ‘white on white on white’ like the Jeff Bezos x Nike Air Force 1 ‘Amazon’. Manufactured with premium leather uppers, the AF1 replaces the usual Swoosh branding with the Amazon logo (rendered in tumbled leather), while the signature ‘AIR’ midsoles are rebranded as ‘Bezos’. Slotting nicely into the god complex of the Amazon founder, it also may double as a toilet if you’re not authorised to use the restroom at work.

Air Jordan 11 'Bitcoin'

With all the crypto-mania flooding the Internet right now, we honestly wouldn’t be surprised to see Jordan Brand line the Air Jordan 11 with Bitcoin. Like cryptocurrency, there’s a lot going on in this colourway. The iconic Jumpman logo penetrates the Bitcoin branding on the heel, while trading circuits power the lace straps. Silver metallic logotype print emblazons the heel, and a microchip on the midsole ensures that you can access your accounts 24/7.

Sure to impress all the tech bros in Silicon Valley, it even comes with an NFT component so you can also make no friends in Zuckerberg’s metaverse.

Mark Zuckerberg x Nike SB Dunk Low ‘Meta’

What better way to step foot inside Facebook’s online hellscape than with the Nike SB Dunk Low ‘Meta’? Stamped with silver foil Meta branding on the heel, the SB Dunk features seven fully-functional cameras to record absolutely everything your feet see. On the midsole, we also have reminders of the omnipresent virtual monopoly Zuckerberg now holds, with plenty of fertile space left for further digital conquest.
