Colourway Corral: Our Favourite 'Volt' Sneakers
legendary ‘Volt’ colourway is an acquired taste. Sneakerheads are known to either love it or hate it – there’s no fence-sitting. But whatever your feelings, you can’t deny it's one of the star stallions in the Swoosh stable of pantones.
There have been many great ‘Volt’ sneaks, and in 2013 Nike even enlisted their brightest hue to make a major impression at the London , a marketing move dubbed the ‘Volt Ambush’. In 2025, the iconic hue is still pumping, with a recent uptick in fluoro releases. So, why not take a look back in time at some ‘Volt’ from the vault?

Nike Flyknit Racer ‘Volt’
We had to put this kick at the top because back in 2016, if you laced up Team Swoosh’s in ‘Volt’ while rocking pinrolled jeans, you were the man. Touching down during the mid-2010s' Flyknit Racer boom, this eye-catching combo cranked necks more than the cult-classic ‘Oreo’, but maybe not as much as the ‘Rainbow’.

Nike Air Max 90 ‘Volt’
The is no stranger to a smattering of ‘Volt’, but by far the most iconic is 2020's classic Air Max 90 ‘Volt’. Peep that OG colour-blocking with suede and leather – even those who don’t douse their feet in Nike’s loudest pantone can get down with this bad boy.

Nike Air Max 1 ‘Air Max Day’
There's been a plethora of fluorescent that have touched down over the years, but none have been as divisive as the 2014 . Coming correct with a top-half boasting OG colour-blocking, the model hosts a full ‘Volt’ midsole – undoubtedly a controversial addition. Despite that decision, these Air Max 1s will always remain special because they marked the start of Air Max Day – March 26!

Air Jordan 1 ‘Visionaire’
Landing back in June 2022, the ‘Visionaire’ was a difficult one to miss in the release calendar. It arrived during the great and fabled onslaught of AJ1s during the early 2020s, and though the ‘Visionaire’ looked like an OG, it bragged one twist – ‘Volt’ overlays!

Nike Air Max 90 ‘Duck Camo Volt’
The 'Duck Camo' is without a doubt one of the GOATed Air Max 90 colourways of all time, arriving in an obscure orange and camouflage construction. Nike Air Foamposite One ‘Black Volt’
The Nike franchise has experienced a semi-resurgence in recent years, after an unofficial hiatus. Nike have resurrected some certified bangers like the ‘Galaxy’ (2012), ‘Eggplant’ (2009) and the recent ‘Black Volt’ which dropped in March 2025 as a homage to the legendary 2007 ‘Cactus’.

Nike Air Foamposite One ‘Silver Volt Camo’
Silver, ‘Volt’ and camo in one shoe sounds like a nauseating disaster – but when it came to this 2014 , it was the recipe for a banger. With a subtle camouflage-patterned upper alongside muted grey and silver carbon fibre body, the 'Silver Volt Camo' has stood the test of time.

Nike Lunar Force 1 ‘Speckled Volt’

Nike Pegasus Premium ‘White Volt’
