Monthly Mods: The Best Custom Sneakers from August

Welcome to  Sneaker Freaker’s Monthly Mods series, where we round up the best sneaker mockups,  custom creps, and AI-generated creations from the past few weeks. What we consider a ‘mod’ is any sneaker that has been altered from its original design, which could be as simple as painting something cool on an AF-1 or having an illustrator craft a mockup, or as involved as completely disassembling a sneaker to reassemble it with new, premium materials.

Custom sneakers have been pumping all August long, and now it's time to round up the best.

Over the past few weeks, there has been a nice uptick in Air Max 1 customs. From crazy dye jobs to full reworks, the 1987 silhouette took the top spot in August's Monthly Mods. Alongside the plethora of bespoke Dunks and AF-1s was a sprinkle of Salomon, namely the ACS Pro. It's also nice to see ASICS getting some love from customisers, with the GEL-Kayano 14 looking crisp in denim.
