How Sneakerheads Are Styling the Yu-Gi-Oh! x Nike Air Max 95

In March this year, rumours started to bubble up of a collaboration between legendary Japanese manga franchise ! and . While Yu-Gi-Oh! has engaged in linkups before, joining forces with the Beaverton brand's was their most fitting adventure yet. Why? In the world of the manga and anime series, character Katsuya Jonouchi (aka Joey Wheeler) actually wears the AM95 – though the writers gave its name a sly twist, dubbing it the 'Air Muscle'.
Nike have paid homage to this legendary Yu-Gi-Oh! detail in the new collaborative model; it features 'Air Muscle’ tongue branding, just as Jonouchi's pair does in the series. Alongside two colourways comes a special shoebox, custom trading cards and graphic insoles.
On September 12 Nike dropped the 'Joey' and Japan-exclusive 'Jonouchi' Yu-Gi-Oh! x Nike Air Max 95s. Obviously, these sold out quicker than you can put the Blue Eyes White Dragon in attack mode – and now the lucky ones who copped are putting their 'fits on show.
