Five of Our Favourite Kanye Leaks
You know Kanye’s up to something when he reactivates his Twitter account, and judging by his recent online activity, we're about to be inundated with Yeezy goodness. Peppered amongst album news and hourly affirmations (part of his upcoming philosophy book, perhaps?), Mr West has given us a peek behind the scenes at Yeezy HQ. It’s unclear if all of these will get a release or if they'll remain in sample limbo, but here are the five that have us most excited.
Save for his limited release cleats, Kanye's has kept to the realm of fashion, and so the prospect of him venturing into performance footwear is pretty exciting. Still in its early stages, the possible Yeezy baller looks like a 350 v2 Zebra that’s been tweaked for the court. It’s not like any basketball shoe we’ve ever seen, but being Kanye’s, did we really expect it to be?
This Yeezy 451 prototype has definitely is one of Kanye’s more extreme leaks. Words like ‘chewing gum’ and ‘Spiderman’s web’ have been thrown around to describe the shoe’s bizarre sole unit, and we must admit, it’s a bit of a weird one. Kanye does say, though, that this it’s an early prototype – who knows what it’ll look like when (or if) it hits shelves.
Apart from a couple of on-foot sightings and third-party Twitter leaks, we haven’t heard much about monochrome v2s since last year’s ‘Cream’ make-up. That all changed when Kanye released this spectrum of samples last week. From peach and mint, to olive and gunmetal, ‘Ye has every base covered. Who knows when they’ll see the light of day, but it looks like we have a lot to get excited about.
Eagle-eyed Yeezy fans will have noticed a little somethin-somethin’ in the corner of this shot. Yep, we might be getting some Semi Frozen-esque Wave Runners – that’s something we can definitely get behind. It looks like they'll be dressed in the same fluorescent hue as last year's v2s, with the gum sole to match. Here's hoping they release in bigger numbers than the 350.
Last but certainly not least, Kanye gave us a close up look at two upcoming Yeezy 500s. The bulging-soled sneakers, in violet and pale pink, follow the similarly muted ‘Moon Yellow’ and ‘Blush’ versions already released, and have us wondering if they’ll be a womens exclusive.
