Collector Spotlight: Bianca Derousse
How did you get started with sneaker collecting?
I first fell in love with sneakers back in 2005. I went on a 'sneaker run' with my friend , and he was going to purchase . After we decided to hit all the sneaker spots in Miami. Our last stop was M.I.A Skate Shop and I saw a pair of Nike Air Zoom FC Gino Iannucci. It was the first sneaker I picked up all day. He had me try them on, and I've been collecting ever since.
Can you tell the SF community a little more about your brand IMSIMPLYB and how it got started?
I'd always think guys get all the good stuff! There weren't as many sneaker-related accessories or clothing geared to women in the sneaker community. So, I decided to do something about it, and created IMSIMPLYB. I thought about things that I wanted, and made the Simply Stacked Bag. It was so well received by the ladies that I branched out to other bag designs and shirts. It's only the beginning, there's still so much more I'd like to create.

Many sneaker collectors have decided to switch out their OG boxes for clear containers. Is there a particular reason you haven't?
It's nostalgic for me. I love my boxes. There's a story behind every pair of sneakers I own, and the box is a part of that.
Who are some of your biggest influencers in the sneaker scene?
The women in the sneaker community, including , , , , , , and to name a few. They inspired me to do my weekly Sneaker Sunday IG Lives, where I talk to women from the community. We discuss everything: their passion for sneakers, current releases, and what we'd like to see for women within the community. There are so many women who've been a part of the community for years, with outstanding collections and knowledge.
