The DIY design language in Virgil Abloh’s ‘The Ten’ has captured the imaginations of many, and now Abloh wants you to put that inspiration to good use. In a Nike News article unveiling the sneakers, Abloh hinted that the project would take a hands-on approach. ‘Yes, we're making a desired product, but by making a trip to your local store, and using tools you have at home, you could also make this shoe,’ Abloh said.
And if you happen to succeed at making a pair, Abloh wants to see your handy work. In a recent tweet, he instructed anyone who has customised a Chuck Taylor All Star (presumably in the same manner as his project, not just some Supreme x Louis V mock-up) to share them on socials using #offcampuschucks.
The cream of the crop will be picked and showcased at the Nike ‘Off’ Campus events in NYC.
