When adidas launched BOOST technology in 2013, no one expected it would light a rocket under both adidas (and the sneaker world at large) the way that it did. Let's face it, the UltraBOSOT is comfy as hell, super lightweight, and more than easy on the eye.

Here, we take a look at some of the UltraBOOST's most sought-after iterations.

Sneakersnstuff x adidas UltraBOOST (2016)

So hyped was this UltraBOOST that many people have forgotten it was released as part of the golf-inspired 'Tee Time' pack (the accompanying EQT Guidance 93 has slipped into relative anonymity). BOOST hype was at fever pitch, and the Swedish retailer's colab fuelled sneakerdom's hunger for a black and white make-up. Even now, the pair fetch a hefty sum on the resell market - you'll be looking at around $1000 to add these to your rotation.

Naked x adidas UltraBOOST (2016)

Danish retailer Naked applied their renowned creativity to the UltraBOOST and produced this minty delight, which was a runaway hit with female and male sneakerheads alike. Not only is the seafoam green one of the cleanest colours to grace the UB's knit, Naked's colab was the first to change up the TPU caging, switching it out for a knitted version. Aesthetically spot-on and extra comfortable - what a combo!

UltraBOOST 'Cream Chalk' (2015)

In this day and age, you have to remind yourself that a shoe can look good and be successful without a collaborator's influence or other bells and whistles attached. The 'Cream Chalk' UB proves that sometimes simplicity is best with its toned down off-white colour scheme (not so white that you quake in fear at the thought of dirt), and is still considered one of the best colourways to hit the cushy runner.

Solebox x adidas UltraBOOST Uncaged (2016)

The OG UltraBOOST Uncaged, a Solebox colab, looked like no UB before it. Unsurprisingly, it quickly became one of the most sought-after UltraBOOSTs ever. Without its TPU structure, the Uncaged was instead laced through eyelets in the knit for a seriously streamlined look. Another exercise in simplicity, light grey Primeknit sits above white BOOST with a pop of orange on the outsole.

adidas UltraBOOST 'Burgundy' (2016)

Ooof, doesn't that white BOOST look tidy against the deep burgundy? No wonder it's one of the most expensive UBs on the resell market. Its crisp colouring and rarity ensured its spot on many 'most expensive sneaker' lists. And really, who can blame someone for wanting to get a piece of that BOOST-y goodness?
