Born and raised in the the depths of Melbourne's wild Western suburbs, lifestyle brand ICHPIG are no new kids on the block. Along with a small string of local names, they're part of a dying breed of native brands standing up to rep the Burn scene – and rep it well they do, rolling with the motto 'Mel-born' since starting out in the garage just four years ago.
Allured by tales of soft fleece, clever designs and a cunning eye for street fashion, SNKR FRKR was invited to travel deep into Western territory to check out the ICHPIG headquarters, aptly titled 'The Pigpen'. Upon arrival it was clear why ICHPIG separates itself from the mainstream of streetwear culture. Alongside a retail space, the Pigpen houses graphic studios, a basketball court, skate park and most impressive of all, the in-house manufacturing and product construction department. Almost everything is made by hand on site, with any outsourced manufacturing aimed to be kept within Victorian borders.
