Brand of choice: Nike
Staple pair: Nike Air Foamposite One
Surprises: His promotion of the adidas Originals TS Lite 'Trophy Hunter'
You knew he had to be up sooner or later! We're finally giving Wale's sneaker game the shine it deserves. A lover of fine footwear from way back, Wale worked in a sneaker store as a youngin', and when the green finally started stacking up from his rhyme work he sent his 'people' straight to the mall to cop him some fresh pairs. He was one of Nike's favourite celebrity 'seeds' for a while too, which meant he was directly sent the hyped models that he once had to hustle hard to secure. Wale recently admitted he's fallen down the list of priorities at Beaverton – perhaps Nike was miffed that he was the chief promoter of an adidas Originals release – but he's remained a Swoosh devotee. In a list of his 50 favourite sneakers for Complex, all were Nike or Air Jordan. Surprisingly, the Nike Air Foamposite One came in at number 18 – he's renowned for rocking the neck snapping silhouette on the very reg and even vibed with the divisive Weatherman models. He's always up to try new stuff though, he's happy to stunt in some Yeezys or designer models, and even whips out the BAPESTAs now and then. Flick through the gallery above and experience just a small taste of this full time sneakerhead's formidable collection.
