German football star Lukas Podolski, and former HYPEBEAST and Sneaker Freaker contributor Andy Chiu, have joined forces to unveil Standart – a brand new concept store and café in Cologne, Germany.
The first space of its kind in the city, Standart was created with an aim to ‘raise the standards’ in the local area. Taking the place of ‘Made in’ – a core skateboarding store, which held the space for 28 years – the distinguished location is now an updated epicentre for local art, fashion, streetwear and, of course, sneakers.
Stocking a curated selection, Standart delivers pieces from Japanese heavyweights visvim, Neighborhood, WTAPS, Bedwin and sacai, to the local scene. Meanwhile, European and American streetwear labels ACRONYM, Fucking Awesome, Stussy, John Elliott, Daily Paper, Powers, and Rhude add to the stacked inventory.
The space is designed to evolve over time, with fresh art and culture installations on regular rotation. Pop in now, and you’ll be able to peep the special graphic wall designed by artist Kevin Lyons.
