While working in a non-governmental organisation in the heart of the Amazon rainforest in Peru, Piola founder Joshua Rudd met workers who were extracting rubber latex from the trees without harming them. The idea of working harmoniously with the forest as opposed to deforesting struck a cord with Rudd and a light bulb went off. Piola is a new footwear company with the goal of creating unique and avant-guard products designed by some of the best creatives in France, at the same time as supporting the local cotton and rubber business in Peru.
