You are invited to partake in the upcoming “Power in Numbers” Exhibition / Protest. Taking place on Saturday the 20th of September in Brunswick. With over 250 artists submitting work, centered around the aim of protesting the new spray can law. You are to submit an A3 piece, which will be incased within a black frame and white cardboard border. The artwork deadline is the 10th of September. Using any medium you see fit, the piece must be centered around a protest to the new 550 spray can law. The Exhibition will be curated by Jeremy Gaschk, along with blogsite WeMakeStuffGood who are responsible for the “Night of the Dead” exhibition and numerous other parties within Melbourne.
The artworks will be sold on the night and a 10% commission will be taken off pieces sold. We Make Stuff Good Proudly presents: The exhibition will kick off at 12pm on Saturday afternoon, beginning with the exhibition, food and dj’s. Followed by live bands, dj’s and hip hop artists. Not only will this be a kick ass party, it will begin a stand as the Melbourne street art community against a law that is clearly a breach of our rights as Australian Citizens and artists. With both political speakers and petitions to be signed. We, as the Melbourne street art community will be heard and plans for further action against these new laws will begin.
