LimberUp Moscow is a series of three floral illustrations by NY based artist Emeric 'Takeshi' Trahand that draw inspiration from the achievements of women at the 1980 Olympic Games. The artworks showcase the LimberUp trainer, a warm-up shoe designed for Japanese athletes headed to the Moscow Games which sadly never touched the track due to Japan's decision to side with the US and boycott the event. Often overshadowed by this controversy, Moscow was a milestone in female sporting history, with women setting a raft of world records that still stand today. Using Japanese Ikebana flower arrangement Takeshi has captured the beauty of their competitive spirit. Thanks to Creative Laboratory for the heads up.
