Nike have just added an inclusive feature to their Stash app that will open the platform to new users. The upgrade, called ‘Stash Squads’, means that those miles away from Stash’s epicentres can use the app by following someone inside them. That ‘Squad Leader’ will livestream his hunt to a team of four or five users, and when they find the sneaker those in their squad can buy it too.
The app is in its beta stages, but when it’s rolled out it will reportedly turn sneaker hunting into a spectator sport. It could also make Stash extremely competitive. Sneakers on the app are already released in small quantities — and when every person who snaps them up also gives their five mates a pair too, stock won’t last very long. We’re sure bot makers will get creative with this one – we’ll let you know how it all pans out.
