A warrant for larceny was recently issued, followed with an arrest, for 43-year-old man Wilson Suarez, who was the manager at the New Balance factory store in Lawrence, Massachusetts. Suarez has reportedly stolen $1200 worth of shoes. After making the grab, he would poorly hide the kicks under his desk, then send these shoes to the Dominican Republic — receiving a large profit in return. According to the The Eagle-Tribune, security was tipped off by another staff member that Suarez had been stealing two pairs of shoes per day for several years. New Balance security conducted surveillance for two weeks, witnessing him stealing shoes — including unreleased 990s.
Authorities have claimed that Suarez is part of an 'ongoing theft ring'. They became suspicious when he was 'counting large sums of money on his desk and then splitting the money into individual packs'. The funny part is, he was charged with larceny of $1200, which is the minimum amount needed in Massachusetts to be charged for felony larceny.
