The finals of Rob Dyrdek's Monster Street League skate jam got dirty this past weekend with the young guns taking all three big money prizes! While no match for the tiny shredders, Monster Energy’s Chris Cole and Greg Lutzka impressed through the finals with Cole taking the first spot in the Technical section and Lutzka earning the highest single score (6.6) in the Creative section. The Street League competition proved its promise of taking skate comps to a new level with real time judging, the highest ever prize money pool up for grabs and an incredibly diverse array of skaters all flipping boards for that ultimate $150,000 first-place cheque. Street League Skateboarding™ DC Pro Tour Fueled by Monster Energy finals featured the best seven street skateboarders in the world today in Ontario, CA. The all-new contest format and introduction of the Instant Scoring eXperience (ISE) allowed spectators to see exactly what the judges were reacting to in real time leaving fans on the edge of their seats for every trick.
Three of skateboarding’s youngest pros took the top three spots. Malto won $150,000 – the largest prize in skateboarding history – DC’s Ortiz took second and Huston third.
Monster Energy’s Chris Cole and Greg Lutzka impressed through finals with Cole taking the first spot in the Technical section and Lutzka earning the highest single score (6.6) in the Creative section for a respective fifth and seventh place amongst the top 24 street skateboarders in the world.
