Say what you like about the Ball family, but you have to admit they’re entertaining. In fact, basketball fans have been so enthralled by the big ballers’ antics during this off season that the family has joined the entertainment industry. Their Ball in the Family reality show is already airing on Facebook Watch, and now Lonzo has stepped up his rap game with a track about his younger brother.
Titled ‘Melo Ball 1’ the track is half brotherly love, half brand promotion. Lonzo moves from big-upping his younger brother’s cars and Instagram following, to calling him a prince, to speaking on him being the youngest player to have his own signature shoe.
It’s not a horrible track – Lonzo’s flow comes across better than Shaq’s in the LaVar diss – but it’s interesting that a player who tells others to stay in their lane is branching out.
Brand positioning aside, it’s hard to hate on Lonzo for making a track about how cool his little bro is. Stay tuned for news of a fire BBB mixtape.
