San Antonio Spurs' Lonnie Walker IV has gifted 300 pairs of sneakers worth nearly $30,000 to Reading’s Blacktop Basketball League.
The Reading native has already put his fresh signing with adidas to good use, with all sneakers going to kids aged between 7 and 15 that practise at the local courts.
Blacktop Basketball League executive director spoke of the significance of the donation.
'I'm sure the kids will be overwhelmed. I'm looking forward to seeing the reaction of the kids when they do receive them. To see the expressions will be priceless.'
