LeBron James is putting numbers on the board this offseason. He’s just opened a school that promises to break a cycle for at-risk youth, and now his statement-making ‘Equality’ sneakers are being exhibited at the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture.
The induction of the sneakers came with a message from LeBron, who said:
‘As you may know, on December 17 I chose to wear a pair of shoes, the LeBron 15 ‘Equality’ — one black, one white. I use this shoe as inspiration; I want you to use this shoe as inspiration, as a voice. The word ‘equality’ speaks volumes for all of us. No matter your skin colour, no matter your race, no matter if you’re male or female. We are all in the land of the free, and we all should feel like everyone’s equal.'
