The Kicks N Canvas Launch Party Pictures.
On Thursday, April 8, renowned retailer Sole Heaven brought artists and sneaker enthusiasts together for Kicks n Canvas. This unique exhibition, held at The Gallery In Redchurch St (in conjunction with online gallery Zero Cool), opened with 1500 people enjoying a stylish showcase of works by 21 artists including Jon Burgerman, ATG, Inkie, and Copyright, among others, with each asked to attack a pair of white sneakers with their own distinct vision, creating masterworks in the process.
Artist Anthony Listers’ sneakers ended up lost somewhere in Brooklyn, with his space being humorously tagged despite it being vacant. Drum and Bass legend Goldie also contributed to the show and was on hand, showing his craftsmanship and entertaining anyone within ear shot. The artist known as Zoot burnt his sneakers, leaving only rubber soles on his stand (along with a couple of photos to demonstrating the destructive the process).
