We’ve seen our fair share of quirky shoe closure systems over the years, but Lace Lords have rewritten the rules with one of the most ingenious ideas we’ve seen in a minute. As you can see here, their unique laces form a continuous, unified image, just like a tee-shirt for your feet. In the gallery above you'll see gorillas, Union Jacks and more, but there’s really no creative limit to what can be printed. The effect is really something else. The idea may sound simple, but the Lace Lords team took two years to develop prototypes and secure the patents that turned their concept into the real deal. Since the laces have to perfectly align, there’s different patterns for different sneakers, with the Air Force 1, Jordan 1, Puma Clyde, adidas Samba, Dunk SB and New Balance NB574 the debut offering. They’ll be slamming into stores early 2014, so hit up their website for more details.
