CHINESE STORE TRADEMARKS YEEZY NAME TO SELL ‘LEGIT’ KNOCK-OFFS
In one of the ballsiest moves by a counterfeit ring to date, a store in Wenzhou, China, has begun legitimately selling knock-offs of adidas’ Yeezy BOOST 350 V2s – having secured the trademark to the name ‘Yeezy’ in 2013.
LAMELO BALL'S COLLEGE PLANS AT RISK DUE TO BIG BALLER BRAND
The youngest member of the controversial Ball family found himself in the spotlight last week for all the wrong reasons, with speculation that his public endorsement of his family’s own Big Baller Brand – which includes his signature shoe, the MB1 – may make him ineligible for the NCAA.
NIKE'S SELF-LACING PIONEER LEAVES THE SWOOSH FOR TESLA
Senior Nike innovator Tiffany Beers has left her position at the Swoosh to join Tesla. Among a plethora of stand-out designs, Beers led development of Nike’s self-lacing technology – featured in both the HyperAdapt 1.0 and the 2016 version of the Mag. At Tesla, Beers will serve as ‘staff technical program manager’.
NEW NIKE AIR VAPORMAX DESIGN REVEALED
Nike have completely overhauled the Air VaporMax – leaving only its signature Air unit intact – to create an all-new variation dubbed the Air VaporMax CS. The new design forgoes Flyknit in favour of a multi-panel upper built atop a mesh base. So far, the model is only confirmed for release in Grade School sizing.
NEW YEEZY 700S MAKE HIGH-FASHION DEBUT
The Yeezy 700 Wave Runner is yet to make it into the hands of consumers, but already new colourways have started to appear. The latest comes to us from an unexpected source – with a ‘Triple White’ make-up appearing in the pages of Vogue.
WILD KITH X NIKE BASKETBALL COLABS TEASED
In the lead-up to Kith’s New York Fashion Week presentation, the brand’s head-honcho Ronnie Fieg took to social media to show off a resplendent purple-hued Nike Air Maestro II complete with Kith branding at the heel. Later that week, BMX pro Nigel Sylvester took to Instagram to flaunt a wild Air Pippen coated in a multitude of animal prints and praised Fieg for the design.
BAIT DROP OFFICIAL TRANSFORMERS X DIADORA COLAB
The crew at West Coast retailer BAIT dropped their latest pop culture-themed colab last week, teaming up with Diadora to create a four-shoe collection themed around Transformers. The official colab features designs inspired by Optimus Prime, Megatron, Bumblebee and Soundwave.
THE ADIDAS PREDATOR GOES FROM BOOT TO BOOST
The iconic Predator Precision football boot made a surprise return last week. More surprising still, adidas chose to not only deliver a pitch-ready retro of the silhouette, but also switched out studs for BOOST to deliver a version for the streets.
RELEASE DETAILS LEAK FOR THE YEEZY BOOST 350 V2 ‘BELUGA 2.0’
Reputable sneaker leakers Yeezy Mafia claim that the ‘Beluga 2.0’ colourway of the Yeezy BOOST 350 v2 will be hitting retailers in the very near future. If rumours are correct, look out for these on shelves from October 14.
