NIKE LAUNCHES THE VOTE FORWARD CAMPAIGN – ASKS THE PUBLIC TO PICK THE NEXT AIR MAX

This year’s month of Max just keeps getting bigger! Last week, Nike revealed the ‘Vote Forward’ campaign, having selected 12 creatives from around the world – dubbed ‘RevolutionAirs’ – to reach deep into the Air Max gene pool and produce their own unique Max in collaboration with the Nike design team. The talented entrants include Round Two’s Sean Wotherspoon, DJ Venus X and designer Artemy Lebedev.

In a similar vein to 2016’s Air Max Day vote, which brought about the return of the atmos Air Max 1 ‘Elephant’, Nike is calling upon sneakerheads to vote for their favourite design with the promise that the winning entry will be released in 2018. Voting is live now through Nike.com and you’ll have until March 25 to get your entry in. Be sure to check out all 12 RevolutionAir designs before casting your vote!

KANYE’S NEXT ADIDAS COLAB GOES RETRO

The man responsible for some of the most-hyped sneaker releases from the past decade has a new shoe on the way. Pictures have begun to trickle onto the internet showing a white adidas Powerphase with the word Calabasas – Kanye’s joint venture with Kim K – stamped on the vamp. Insiders have already received their pairs and images of the box shows that the model’s official name is the Yeezy Powerphase and the colour is identified as ‘Chalk White’. The retro look is a shift away from the contemporary look of the Yeezy line and is rumoured to be coming in at a much lower price-point than the Boost-equipped Yeezy’s.

No release details have been announced, but you can count on us keeping you updated when new info leaks.

AIR JORDAN 3 'BLACK CAT' TO RETURN IN 2017

The Cat is back! Word on the streets is that Jordan Brand are set to revive the Air Jordan 3‘Black Cat’ later this year for the very first time. Originally released in 2007, the make-up saw the AJ3 receive an all-black makeover, with a pairing of nubuck and patent leather giving the shoe a point of material variation. No images of the 2017 version have been released, so you’ll need to feast on the images of the 2007 version in the meantime. Fingers crossed the elephant print laces make a return!

No release date has been announced for the Air Jordan 3 ‘Black Cat’ at the time of writing, but rumours indicate a December release.

THE JORDAN SIX RINGS RETURNS FOR 2017

To be the GOAT you need skill, determination, luck and most importantly – six NBA Championship wins. Named for the six jewel-encrusted Championship rings Michael Jordan earned in his time with the Bulls, the Six Rings was an early Jordan Brand hybrid that fused elements from the iconic silhouettes worn by His Airness in his Championship winning games: the Air Jordan 6 through 8 and Air Jordan 11 through 14. After taking a brief hiatus from the sneaker scene, the model is now set to return to shelves in 2017. Four colourways have been revealed so far including a ‘Cool Grey’ and classic black, white and red Bulls-inspired make-up.

The Jordan Six Rings will make its return this spring up in the Northern Hemisphere, with colourways rolling out through to summer.

UNITED ARROWS X MIKITYPE X ADIDAS NMD CITY SOCK OFFICIALLY REVEALED

Last week, we finally got an official look at the United Arrows x adidas NMD City Sock, designed with the help of calligrapher Mikitype. For the most part, the shoe looks to be the same as is appeared in some leaked images earlier in the year, with script lettering details set against a black upper. The outsole does appear a little gummier in the official photos, which we certainly won’t complain about. There’s also a matching apparel line, which features some track jackets and pants adorned with the same brush-script lettering.

The United Arrows x Mikitype x adidas NMD City Sock will be available from March 24 at select stockists.

IMAGES OF THE OFF-WHITE X NIKE BLAZER MID LEAKS

Rumours percolating through online channels about an Off-White x Nike Blazer have been confirmed. Designer Virgil Abloh brought a sample of the shoe to a guest lecture as a taste of what he’s up to –  a cream coloured, mid-cut Blazer. Like the mysterious AF1 colab , the shoe has a stack of text obscured by a bold Swoosh that does away with angular stitching and reaches down into the midsole. It’s the same branding we’ve seen on the VaporFly Elite concept shoe Nike custom made for three marathoners.

Release details for the Off-White x Nike Blazer Mid are a ways off yet, but we’ll let you know as soon as Virgil and Nike drop further info.
