How many free throws can you make in 15 minutes? You can find out while supporting charity Helping Hoops at their annual Charity Shootout this weekend in Melbourne.
Into its eighth year, the Charity Shootout is Helping Hoops’ marquee event, and helps raise hundreds-of-thousands of dollars in support for over 1,000 underprivileged children.
The fundraising goal for 2019 is $150,000, which Helping Hoops hopes to achieve through a combination of individual fundraisers and corporate support. Reaching this target will help them unlock growth plans and reach even more children and young people through free basketball programs.
‘Along with our fundraising target, we are looking to make 25,000 free throws across the weekend thanks to our supporters’, says Helping Hoops. ‘Those unable to attend locally at MSAC will still have the opportunity to shoot and fundraise by signing up to participate at their local hoop.’
Shooters from across the world have stepped up to the free-throw line for the Charity Shootout, making it a truly global event.
Taking place the Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre on October 5 and 6, Helping Hoops’ Charity Shootout will also feature Celebrity All Star Game, kids activities, arcade games, and much more.
