The past couple of years have seen sneaker hype reach fever pitch. Some releases get the whole world talking and forking out hundreds, or even thousands, on the resale market.

It’s almost a given, then, that some gems fall by the wayside, muted amid the chatter of the latest Abloh or Yeezy. But don’t fret, we’ve done the legwork and trawled the internet for what you might have missed. Here are some killer releases you should jump on now!

Nike Air Scream
Nike Air Scream White Purple

Nike Air Scream LWP

Nike’s Air Scream LWP is everything we love about the 90s: fluoro, neoprene and a hefty midsole. The shoe debuted in 1995, then quickly faded from the limelight. This year, Nike thought it worthy of revival, and we agree. If the black and highlighter yellow is a bit much for you, the Huarache vibes of the white and purple make-up turns things down a notch while preserving the 90s vibe.

Naked x New Balance 991

The 991 has been in the 990’s shadow of late, but it definitely still holds up in the normcore stakes. Danish boutique Naked recently released their take on the underrated style, and it’s one of the best colourways we’ve seen in a long time. The peachy dream is the perfect summer shoe – what are you waiting for?

Nike Air Max 97 ‘Gold Metallic’

When these were retroed last year, they sold out quick smart, but their recent re-up hasn't caused the same stir. Yes, there have been some pretty run-of-mill 97s of late, but come on, people! You won’t remember those uninspiring colourways 10 years from now, but you'll always remember that time you slept on an absolute classic.

Adidas Consortium x solebox ‘Italian Leathers’ Quesence

The Three Stripes have been dipping into their archives frequently of late. If you’re feeling the retro vibes but not the fluoro onslaught of, say, the Ultra Tech, consider this toned-down Solebox colab instead. An homage to Italian leatherwork and craftsmanship, the shoes come dressed in premium leather and suede in grey and dusty pink. Can’t fathom forking out a grand for Hender Schemes? Go for these.

Nike Air Max 95 'Grape'

It's one of the best women's Air Max 95 make-ups (maybe even the best), so why it's sitting on shelves is beyond us. The white/purple/teal combo looks just as comfortable on Sergio Lozano's design as on the Jordan 5, and while we've seen a few similarly hued models drop recently, none of them compare to the original 95. These should be a requisite in any Swoosh fan's rotation.
