Drake’s new album out and he’s using the opportunity to stir the pot. After weeks of wearing adidas, Drake found himself in a beef that could’ve exposed him. Pusha T’s now legendary ‘The Story of Adidon’ set the internet alight with claims that Drake would use Scorpion to reveal his new child and adidas deal. And, Pusha was right — at least in part.
On the album’s last track, ‘March 14’, Drake spills the juice on having a kid:
Yesterday morning was crazy / I had to come to terms with the fact that it’s not a maybe / That shit is in stone, sealed and signed / She’s not my lover like Billie Jean, but the kid is mine’
As for the adidas deal, Drake is more reticent, but he does bring it up. On the second song, ‘Nonstop’, Drizzy spits ‘Bitch, I move through London with the Euro step / Got a sneaker deal and I ain’t break a sweat’. Now, this sure as hell seems like he’s talking about a new sneaker deal, and the ‘Euro step’ line does sound like a prominent European brand would be lacing him up — like, maybe, adidas — but, as it’s Drake, it’s possible he’s just playing us.
