I simply love this pair for its oriental look, bright colors and detail. Got them immediately during launch at Leftfoot Entrepol at Cathay, Singapore.

China Mask Event (Event Pics)

blog 25th Aug 2008, 5:07 am

Leftfoot Entrepot held a midnight launch for the New Balance 576 China Mask pack. Leading up to launch time, New Balance Singapore and Leftfoot will be threw a party with a sample shoe showcase, an opportunity to design our own mask, as well as a chance to win all four kicks from the China Mask pack. DJ Rough and DJ Ritz provided the beats for the night, whilst Jim Bean was kind enough to spare a few hundred bottles of their pre-mixed whisky and coke. Did we mention that the party is open to all?

Here are some pictures taken before and during the event. Was there slightly earlier so I helped the guys out with some last minute setup.

Woven AF1 (Dave white exclusive)

custom 4th Aug 2008, 5:16 pm

These 1 OF 1 woven AF1 were specially custom made for Dave White.

Simple black and grey tones were used to create this piece as per what Dave White gave us as his preference.

Matt and patent black for the weaves, grey for swoosh and finished off with black croc skin.

We embroidered Dave's name on the shoes as well.

It was an honor to meet up with Dave himself during the Nike "Be True " event at SOLE WHAT and STREETHING event in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Marie Digby - Unfold

music 4th Aug 2008, 5:02 pm

Los Angeles native singer/songwriter Marié Digby has caused a stir in cyberspace and the media with a series of highly successful music video performances on YouTube. Combining her own material and her own unique take on songs written by other artists, Marié has built a devoted following of fans all over the world with 15 million (and counting) views of her clips. Starting in Los Angeles, there's been a mini-explosion of attention as radio stations have found first her version of "Umbrella" and now her single "Say It Again", fresh and winning.

I love this girl tons, good looks and a sweet voice to add. Certainly an album worth listening to.

Junkie XL - Booming Back At You

Coldplay - Viva La Vida

music 4th Aug 2008, 4:51 pm

As a fan from Coldplay's very early days (I still have "Parachutes" as one of my favorite albums of the last decade. I have to admit that I was somewhat apprehensive about the new album, which has been widely touted as Coldplay's 'experimental' album. One of the things touted was that the album would feature sounds recorded in a Barcelona church, as if anyone really cares about that, in the end we just want to hear good songs/a good album. Three years after "X&Y", finally comes Coldplay's 4th studio album.

"Violet Hill" for me the best song on the album, even without it being catchy as such. The album's closer "Death and All of His Friends" crashes in after a pensive beginning.

In all, this album makes clear that this is not the Coldplay of yesteryear. Even "X&Y" sounds dated by this. There isn't a single "catchy" song as such on here. "Speed of Sound" from "X&Y", the last link to the earlier Coldplay instantly recognizable sound, sounds far, far away now. No falsetto singing from Chris Martin is to be found here.

Telepopmusik - Angel Milk

music 4th Aug 2008, 4:48 pm

The group best known for 2001's dreamy hit Breathe, a personal favourite of mine, returns with a spectacular followup to their debut Genetic World. Angel's Milk is everything Genetic World is and more. Continuing to mesmerize with dreamy melodies and breathy vocals, the group also infuses their songs with string elements and even creates some old world Broadway-like charm on the gorgeous Love's Almighty. Not surprisingly, it's also hemled by vocalist Angela McCluskey who continues to weave magic into Telepop's songs.

The album also sees collaboration with Deborah Anderson and Mau. On the first single, Into Everything, Anderson provides the fluffy dream-like vocals to the Breathe-sequel with aplomb but it's really vocalist Mau who steals the show with a deep lush voice on tracks like Anything, Last Train To Wherever and Hollywood on My Toothpaste, especially the rap on the latter two tracks are dripping with great sensuousness.

A bonfide sequel worthy of its prdecessor.
