END. X Reebok Ventilator (Husky)

For ten years now, has offered a curated selection of high quality menswear to a discerning clientele in the UK, while always maintaining a strong focus on footwear. As a key player in Certified Network of global boutiques, they’re also contributing to the anniversary celebrations for the this year.

When the Ventilator arrived in 1990, it was one of the lightest runners available, offering a killer combination of comfort, stability and flexibility jam-packed into a modernist package. Searching for their creative direction, the team at END. wanted to pay tribute to the shoe’s natural attributes, before zeroing in on an unlikely inspiration – Husky dogs.

Powerful and fast, Huskies are also known for their spectacular long-haired coats that enable them to endure rugged artic winters. END. incorporated that feature by using a striking ‘hairy’ suede across the entire upper to give the Ventilator a grey coat of its own. Light blue tones are a nod to the piercing eyes of the Husky and their arctic homeland, while the pink leather highlights allude to the dog’s famous tongue-out appearance while pulling sleds. Custom insoles featuring a Husky’s thick mane complete the package.

“Huskies are known for their speed, resiliency and ability to adapt to their surroundings,” Simon Lister from END. told us, “We thought this was an exciting perspective and reference point for Reebok’s classic Ventilator silhouette.”
