DRAKE x AIR JORDAN 6 (OCTOBER’S VERY OWN)
April 27, 2016
We’re starting to get a clearer idea of what the historic partnership between Drake and Jordan Brand will entail, as we take an exclusive first look at the latest October’s Very Own co-branded Jordan release. Following up the excruciatingly limited AJ10 and AJ12 OVO pack, Drizzy fans will be psyched to learn this gobsmacking black and gold Air Jordan 6 (the model is celebrating its 23rd anniversary this year) will score a large general release when it drops at Jordan retailers worldwide on October 24. Drake told Sneaker Freaker 1.5 million pairs of the OVO Air Jordan 6 will be produced as a show of gratitude for his album Nothing Was The Same passing 1.5 million sales in the US. ‘I’m not feeling this reselling gifts from me for 100K business,’ he said, ‘that’s cheese that could be on my cheese board, sitting all pretty with the almonds and grapes. I also want to give more people a chance to rep these joints, spread the love a bit, I’m all about making new friends.’ Are you feeling the colourway? We certainly are, so stop eating chowder and start stacking those clams to make sure your money’s right for the October release. Pic via AFD.
UPDATE: Yep, as some of you have already worked out, this was an April Fool’s Day joke. The shoes may be fake photoshop jobs but the thirst was very real, so it seems a bit of a shame that this AJ6 will never be made. Or will it? Listen to the people, Jordan Brand, listen…
