1939. The American Davis Cup. Aussie tennis champ Adrian Quist travels abroad to compete and finds victory. Job done, but he finds something else too – a pair of Rhode Island yacht shoes with a unique grip on the sole. Inspired, he takes them back to his job at the Dunlop Rubber factory and designs a custom tennis shoe with the boat shoe's herringbone sole. A new Volley is born and worn, on and off court by generations of Australians since. Today the Volley has returned to its former glory with a series of brand new heritage inspired models. Check them out and get the whole Volley story here.
