VANS SYNDICATE (S/DOUBLE)

If you’ve caught up with Shawn Stussy’s blog of late you would be familiar with his new S/Double project. The man who founded perhaps the most iconic brand in what has come to be known as ‘streetwear’ is once again putting his name to a small, personal range of fashion items and accessories. It’s all about making simple things that he enjoys wearing and that are in balance with his current lifestyle. As he explains, “This is one of those things that’s about seeing if it can be done and having a good feel to it… I am just making pretty basic stuff and I want the things I make to be familiar because I haven’t changed”. This want for timeless simplicity is evident in the new S/Double Vans AV Sk8-Low released as part of the Syndicate range. Its low profile, no-fuss midnight-blue ballistic nylon and waxy leather upper brings out the shoe’s subtle red accents, with Stussy’s distinctive handwritten script embossed across the heel. Available now at Caliroots. To hear more from Stussy about this project check out the great interview that he and the Vans Syndicate crew put down over at honeyee.
