STUSSY X PALLADIUM PAMPA BOOT

Stussy and Palladium have joined forces to produce this triplet of chopped down Pampa boots. With their distinctive rubber toes and canvas uppers, Palladium is cutting a swathe through the world right now and this mid-cut collab should put them right on the sneaker map. Released September from Stussy stores and other neat retailers!

FROM THE PRESS RELEASE.
Stussy Deluxe has partnered with Palladium for a special A/W 2010 footwear collaboration.
The Pampa Mid, a version of Palladium’s popular Pampa boot, has been revised and reduced by an inch in height to create a casual mid-boot. The Pampa-Mid mixes the classic 60 year heritage of Palladium with the legendary laid-back aesthetic of California-based Stussy.
“Way before the sneaker explosion, athletic canvas shoes in Europe were hard to find,” says Nick Bower, Stussy Deluxe’s creative director. “America had Vans and Converse but Europe, lacking the influence of surf or skate and without an established sportswear style, had to look in more diverse places to find a shoe that was athletic with a casual point of view. Palladium filled this role and were the alternative kicks of the time.”
While Stussy Deluxe and Palladium hail from opposite shores, both brands share a strong foundation in classic sportswear, military inspiration and are deeply respected for their core competencies and heritage.
"With collaborations you're really looking for expertise and a point of view that's different from yours, in order to create something new,” says Barney Waters, VP of Marketing for Palladium. “Palladium has been making the Pampa boot for over 60 years, and we knew that Stussy would do something that we wouldn't have thought of ourselves.”
Stussy’s version of the Pampa includes waxed canvas on the upper and premium grade suede to the eyelet stay, counter and the tongue.  Palladium's circle logo is on the medial side in embossed suede.  Other new features include a new heel loop, two sets of laces, leather covered PU sock liner and full leather lining.  Available in three color ways: Black, Silver Mink, and Chili Pepper, the Stussy Deluxe X Palladium Pampa Mid will be available September 18, 2010 at Stussy Chapter stores, specialty retailers and online at www.stussy.com.

About Stussy:
When Shawn Stussy began selling hand-screened tees along with his surfboards around Laguna Beach more than 25 years ago, he single-handedly redefined what casual fashion looks like, and means. The first to draw inspiration from the then very underground subcultures of skate and surf, and combine them with burgeoning music scenes, a work wear and sportswear aesthetic, Stussy fathered what is now an explosive product category of the apparel market. With flagship stores in New York, Tokyo, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Milan and London, Stussy remains at the forefront of streetwear culture through consistently pure product, exclusive collaborations and alignments, controlled distribution and a vast worldwide network of cultural creatives that make up the “Stussy tribe.”

About Palladium:
Palladium was founded in 1920 to make aircraft tires for the aviation industry.  In 1947, after the end of WWII saw demand for tires dry up, Palladium put their canvas and rubber expertise to use by making boots that were as hard wearing as their tires.  Palladium became a boot company and then outfitters of the legendary French Foreign Legion with their classic canvas Pampa boot.  Over 60 years later the timeless design of Palladium’s signature Pampa boot is as relevant as ever and available once again for explorers worldwide.
