Reebok’s ongoing collaboration with graphic designer and mathematician John Maeda has produced some wild designs in the past. In contrast Maeda’s new ERS 5000 is a sleek minimalist affair employing what he describes as “thoughtful reduction”, the first principle of his book The Laws of Simplicity. We haven’t quite done the math on this one, but we do like the way the pure silver upper contrasts with the sheer plastic eyelets and white patent heel. Scheduled for an August release.
