February this year, PUMA sponsored the Central St Martins MA Show at London Fashion Week. PUMA and Central St Martins collaborated to launch a special re-design competition for Autumn Winter 2007, which saw Menswear MA fashion students re-design some of PUMA’s most iconic footwear styles and which debuted on the catwalk at London Fashion week.
Each winner receives a cash prize and in addition all 3 winning graduates will have a limited edition run of their footwear styles produced and sold in key PUMA concept stores worldwide with a significant contribution from the sales proceeds being donated to the CSM PUMA bursary fund, helping finance the education of future fashion talent. You find out more about the winning designers and their designs on the PUMA website. www.puma.com/centralsaintmartins
The 3 winning designs will be going in-store into PUMA's Carnaby Street store on August 1st.
1st prize – Georgy Baratashvili. A redesign of the PUMA London Trail boot
PUMA liked the dance shoe inspiration and the fact that it was designed as a unisex shoe. The concept of having a shoe within another shoe is really clever too. Georgy had really considered the PUMA formstripe branding, which doubles as a functional part of the shoe.
2nd prize – Louise Markey. A redesign of the PUMA Aerial +
PUMA chose this shoe as one of the winners as the shoe itself is a brilliant simple design yet it has the potential to be a really interesting footwear concept. The mesh wrap over the top could develop into something fun, for example, changing the colour of the shoe underneath gives it a completely different dimension.

3rd prize – Jesper Borjesson. A redesign of the PUMA Tatau Mid
Jespers boot is a very simple, clean design and sometimes the simplest shoes are the hardest one’s to create. Its very stylish and has clever detailing.
