20 years ago MTV made hip-hop history by launching a new format music show called Yo! MTV Raps. Presented by Doctor Dre, Ed Lover and Fab Five Freddy and featuring artists such as Big Daddy Kane, MC Shan and Doug E. Fresh, these iconic music masters were the driving force of hip-hop and defined a Golden Age of music. Throughout April 2008, MTV will bring the program back to television with a new series that will take a reflective look at how hip-hop started and will follow its evolution through music history.
A significant part of PUMA’s brand history has a strong connection with hip-hop culture, with many of its sneaker styles being worn by music artists and fans alike. In 2007 the very first PUMA Yo! MTV Raps collection was launched, consisting of footwear, accessories and apparel. The concept became a huge success with fans around the world and re-established PUMA’s desirability in the hip-hop community. This year, PUMA launched a new capsule collection of co-branded footwear to celebrate the return of the new Yo! MTV Raps series. The limited edition collection will consist of the most iconic heritage styles from PUMA’s past, including the Suede. Coming in two colourways, this Suede features a lush grey and silver colourway, utilizing the all over logo print that has taken the scene by storm. Understated at best, this is for all you platinum hustlers out there.

Only limited pairs of these shoes will be available at selected Foot Locker stores exclusively and from selected PUMA retail stores beginning April 15th. A second follow-up drop is launching a month later in May featuring the same styles but different color and material combinations.
