Red plaid, flannelette or lumberjack as it's fondly known as, has always been reserved for the outdoors type alongside some other stereotypes we won't name. Like all things sacred, fashionista irony wraps it's grubby little hands on these garment styles and popularises the look. Most of the big street brands have been dabbling with the plaid look in response to the growing trend and now both Nike and Reebok have incorporated the materials into their range.
For the gentleman who coordinates outfits, these could be the final piece of the attire puzzle! The plaid actually works quite well and it's nice to see that Nike used more on the outside of the shoe as opposed to Reebok's incarnation.
Below we have red plaid in fine form across the Nike Air Max 1 and the Nike Court Force High, and tomorrow we'll showcase blue plaid across a Nike AM90 and Nike Air Stab.
