Nike continues to throw its weight behind the global (PRODUCT)RED campaign against AIDS in Africa with this new Dunk Low iD. The embroidered hexagon pattern on the heel panel gives a nod to the powerful influence that sport can play in rebuilding communities afflicted by the AIDS epidemic… a timely message given this year’s World Cup is being held in South Africa, the country with the world’s largest HIV infection rate. Eight percent of net retail sales from the shoe will go towards the Global Fund against AIDS plus local football-based community programs across Africa. A limited run has just hit the shelves at Nike Sportswear’s 21 Mercer St store.
