The Pegasus is one of Nike’s best known runners and is also reportedly their top-selling running franchise of all time. When these dropped into the office encased in a huge wooden box containing the oh-so-light Pegasus 25 SE, corresponding t-shirt, Nike+ Ipod adapter and Nike+ SportBand, we knew we needed to share the love. Named after the majestic winged horse of Greek mythology, the Pegasus was intended to represent movement, quickness and the allure of flying on 'Air'. In this case, the all-new 25 SE model also gets a retro themed upper that is very easy on the eye with a few modern touches including a sweet sonic welded Swoosh and vintage Nike colours. Add into the mix the eco-Considered construction and you have a pretty cool ride that can (at a pinch) be worn socially. Check the specs below for a full lodown on the Considered approach.

The Pegasus has spent more than a quarter-century supporting the feet of elite and everyday runners. From current day running champions to your neighbor next door, the Pegasus continues to prove that it’s capable of running through just about anything. In 25 years the biggest challenge with the Pegasus was how to make it better. Nike have made it better. They have made it Considered.
What makes the Pegasus 25 Considered?
Reduced Waste
Fewer materials used in the upper and smarter pattern-efficiency resulted in less waste, leading to an impressive reduction of 1.4 ounces of weight, or 13 percent, over the previous Pegasus. Less weight = less waste.
Environmentally Preferred Materials
Environmentally Preferred Materials (EPMs) were used wherever possible. The EPMs used in the upper have a high recycled content.
Smarter Pattern Efficiency
Nike Air bags were ‘nested’ together using smarter pattern efficiency in order to reduce waste.
Recycled Materials
The outsole uses Nike’s environmentally-preferred rubber as well as recycled Nike Grind. The Nike Air bags also used 83 percent recycled content.
Water-Based Adhesives
Best-practice manufacturing enabled the air bag and midsole components to be attached using water-based adhesives.
