Reconstructing a simple soccer boot and revamping it for a new purpose, Nike Sportswear turn their Nike Air Zoom Tiempo into a fixie shoe machine. Toughening the upper with extra ballistic materials and bulking out the rubber midsole for maximum protection, you can trash the hell out of these sneakers and still keep your ride crisp. Released as part of the LIVESTRONG campaign, eight riders (see press release for a list of names) worked alongside Nike to create their own personal kicks. With the first four in the collection shown today, it's time to get hustling as these are unfortunately a Tier Zero drop.

Nike Sportswear LIVESTRONG Collection: Air Zoom Tiempo TZ LAF
Developed specifically for the Nike Sportswear LIVESTRONG Collection, the footwear design team looked at the Nike Tiempo, first launched through the football (soccer) category, and enhanced the shoe with key elements to work with today's inner city bike rider. Developed in partnership with eight bike riders from around the globe, the Air Zoom Tiempo TZ LAF was constructed with a board last which translates into a stiffer construction, making the pushdown of the pedal stroke easier on the rider. Throughout the construction of the shoe, the designers have increased the density of the rubber and the derometer. Inside the shoe, the sockliner has been updated to also be a bit stiffer, giving support to the foot.
The upper of the shoe mirrors the look of the original Tiempo, however has been updated with a tougher leather to last through the wear and tear the cages on the pedals may cause. The whole Air Zoom Tiempo pack includes eight colorways inspired by the iconic yellow of LIVESTRONG.
Each color represents a different rider and their respective city. The eight riders include: Kyle Demers from New York City, Jupiter Desphy from Los Angeles, Superted from London, Takaharu "Hal" Okada from Tokyo, Yorgo Tloupas representing Paris, Berlin's Henrik Kuerschner, Massan from San Francisco, and Lance Armstrong representing his hometown of Austin.
Nike Sportswear LIVESTRONG Collection: M65 Jacket
A true classic of military-inspired design, the Nike M65 is remastered with Nike innovation and design. Updated and re-crafted as part of the NSW collection, it is produced from a highly functional three layer laminate water resistant breathable nylon. Rebuilt for the Nike Sportswear LIVESTRONG Collection, the jacket stays true to its classic M65 detailing including a sublimated internal grid print, rain gutter storm flap, waterproof front zip, a 2.5 layer packable hood, and Velcro adjustable cuffs. Inspired by the iconic yellow, this jacket is constructed using ultrasonic welding/taped back construction and very minimal stitching.
