Against advice from Nike a rebellious McEnroe wore the Air Trainer 1 cross trainer out on the court in '87 and blew the crowd away. The shoe game changed that day, with McEnroe declaring after the match "this is the best shoe I've ever played in". The Nike Air Trainer 1 has been retroed in countless manifestations since it's birth but the OG ‘Chlorophyll’ colourway still remains the most iconic.
