NIKE AIR ASSAULT

The Air Assault is one of the 'tougher' looking hi-cut shoes in Nike's basketball vault. When they decided to retro it in 2006, everyone was over the moon. There was debate about how the retro didn't utilise the OG midsole, but even then the shoe was proven to be a winner amongst heads new and old. And then we received this...

This is a fine example of how an excellent shoe like the Air Assault can be err..'mutilated' aesthetically. As usual, these didn’t come with a story. From what we can make of it, it’s got something to do with baseball or a baseball team of some sort.

The colours are fine, but the baseball-esque stitching and pin-striping on the toe cap doesn’t do the shoe much justice. Then again, one man's junk is another man's treasure….
