It's a sad fact that sometimes you can't always get what you want. Our good friend Frank the Butcher, who brought us the brilliant Concepts x New Balance ‘Kennedy' 999 a few years back, was tapped on the shoulder by NB to bring the 1600 - a staple in Japan - to the States. Based on the theme ‘Liberty, Justice, Freedom', this patriotic three-pack featuring sumptuous leather and star-spangled suede was due to drop around Independence Day, with the white ‘Freedoms' reserved for family and friends. Sadly, it just wasn't to be. With the plug pulled on the pack at the last minute, this is the closest we'll get to seeing these in the flesh. C'mon NB, make these happen. Let freedom ring!
