As seen for the first time in the last issue of Sneaker Freaker, we finally received a pair of the Wildedge Mids in our grubby hands this week and boy were we excited!
Colours and materials are perfect and multi-colour ACG laces are always good. The 'NOSEW' construction label is something which we have never seen before on a shoe, but is believeable given the way these shoes appear to be made. I might point out that what appears to be cardboard stuffing in the heel area is actually an elastic ankle support, giving the hightop version an extra sensation of hugging the foot.
Waterproof, lightweight, super flexible and born to pound the trail, the Wildedge is easily the most interesting thing we've seen for ages. And it actually does what it says it does! Unfortunately, we have been advised that this version will not be released at this point in time which seems a damn shame given how radically perfect it is. Although we couldn't really offer a business opinion on whether there is a case for both highs and lows, the simple fact it exists and we have one is enough to keep us happy!
All is not lost however, the yellow version in a low that we called out as one of our best shoes of the year has now been confirmed for production, with Australia destined to receive units in the next few months. Check that here.
Nice to know someone out there is paying attention to our ramblings!
