HANON X CLARK ASHCOTT

Scottish sneaker joint Hanon mark their 20th anniversary celebrations with a series of collaborations, this time teaming up with legendary shoe maker Clarks of England.

Here's what Ed and Brian Toft aka the Hanon brothers had to say about this project - 'Clarks Ashcott first launched in the autumn of 1976 and was originally made in Ireland. To the spotters, it will be recognisable as a style manufactured, until recently by Padmore and Barnes of Kilkenny. Much of the back catalogue Clarks were produced by Padmore including their own version of the Ashcott, a favourite of ours which we carried in store up until the company ceased production around 2003. The Ashcott, named after a small town in Somerset, England is a timeless style with a minimal single piece upper, lace overlays and crepe outsole'. Out now, you can read more about the colab below.

PRESS RELEASE

'We have collaborated with Clarks on two special editions of the Ashcott, a tech tuff leather version and a perforated suede. Each model has a premium upper and nods in the direction of performance. Tech Tuff is a laminated woven material that is extremely durable and resistant to abrasion whilst the perforation on the suede offers breathability in its most simple form. Both models come with three sets of laces, two tonal styles and a brightly coloured option to mirror the collar detail and footbed. Lastly the leather hang tag and footbed flame 'Keeps On Burning' logo detail celebrates our 20th anniversary and is inspired by the imagery and slogans of Northern Soul, an underground musical following born out of the north of England in the late sixties.'
