GREEN DAY'S MIKE DIRNT X MACBETH

Green Day bassist Mike Dirnt has collaborated with Macbeth for a second Studio Project, this time unleashing a premium Black / White synthetic leather Schubert high-top! This slippery looking bad boy features a vulcanised outsole and is said to be 100% vegan.... and emo-friendly! In case you missed Mike Dirnt's first collaboration with Macbeth, click here.

PRESS RELEASE

MIKE DIRNT OF GREEN DAY TEAMS UP WITH MACBETH FOOTWEAR TO CREATE A STUDIO PROJECT COLLABORATION

Carlsbad, Calif. April 28th, 2010 - Macbeth, a Carlsbad, CA-based footwear, apparel, and accessory lifestyle brand, has teamed up with Green Day bassist Mike Dirnt for his 2nd Studio Project collaboration.

Mike Dirnt has teamed up with Macbeth once again to deliver his second collaborative Studio Project for Fall 2010. Dirnt's second Studio Project is the black/white synthetic patent leather Schubert high-top. This design, like that before it, is 100% vegan and features a custom water-based synthetic adhesive. The Schubert isn't, however, just another eco-friendly project: the design offers increased ankle support and a low profile vulcanized outsole with advanced vegan materials for a unique and comfortable sneaker on and off stage.

"I always love working with Macbeth. We have worked flawlessly since day one and I am excited to continue our collaborative efforts," says Dirnt. "Our first studio collaboration got great feedback and I am confident that everyone will appreciate my second design. I am extremely excited to get it out in stores and see the response."

Earlier this year, Dirnt donated the royalties from his first Studio Project collaboration to the Soles4Souls Foundation. Royalties totaled $10,000, which went directly to relief efforts in Haiti.

With eight studio albums and over 22 million records sold in the U.S., Green Day is considered one of the most iconic and beloved bands of its time. Currently on a world stadium tour, Green Day continues to grow their strong connection with their fans and serve as music legends on every side of the globe.

About Macbeth:
Macbeth Footwear was Co-founded in 2002 by platinum selling musician Tom DeLonge, known for fronting such acts as Blink-182, Box Car Racer and Angels & Airwaves and longtime friend and ex-concert promoter, Jon Humphrey who was also the General Manager and helped found such brands as ADIO footwear, Hawk Shoes and Planet Earth Products. With rock music as their muse, DeLonge and Humphrey assembled a team of talented individuals to develop fashion-forward products that were inspired by the music scene and the action sports lifestyle of Southern California that they grew up in. Since 2002, Macbeth has been at the forefront of collaborative efforts with musicians, athletes and artists, creating a blended culture of products for everyday people.
