ETNIES has just released images of a new project called SACRE GREEN, the first 100% etnies carbon neutral sneaker collection! Inspired and created from Pierre Andre Senizergues’ pro model shoe the Senix, the collection features five green themes that tell the story of Senizergues’ green journey. An advocate of the environment for more than a decade, PAS’ SACRE GREEN shoe collection is made from sustainable materials and housed in a shoe box that can be planted from the seeds interlaced in the material. The carbon neutral sneaker is a first of its kind for etnies and ties into Senizergues’ commitment of having a carbon neutral company by 2020.
To offset the carbon output in production, Senizergues has committed to planting trees in Costa Rica through the La Reserva Forest Foundation, an organization dedicated to lightening our planet’s carbon footprint and believes we are all stewards of the natural world. Each tree planted in Costa Rica for SACRE GREEN will reduce 50lbs of CO2 per tree annually. After meeting with Costa Rica’s president and showing the film, The 11th Hour, an environmental documentary that Senizergues executive produced with Leonardo DiCaprio, he learned of their aggressive goal of becoming a carbon neutral country by 2021. Senizergues pushed forward with SACRE GREEN and his carbon neutral commitment inspired by their ambition and realizing the future of fashion and footwear is green.
