Russian born Ruslan Karablin, better known in the art/design world as SSUR, has been a constant in the NYC downtown art scene for almost 15 years. Growing up in Coney Island NY, SSUR entered the New York scene as an outside artist with no formal training. Three main subjects have heavily influenced the SSUR aesthetic, sex, politics and protest.

This is the second collaboration between DC and SSUR and these are all inspired from SSSUR's Russian heritage with a New York twist, and based on an old folk form made at a historical factory called Gzhel, which produces porcelain objects. These objects have blue paint baked onto white porcelain.

Featuring a soft and resilient leather upper with custom sublimated artwork. Foam-padded tongue and collar for added comfort and support. Soft and luxurious velour lining and tongue top. The oversized airbag reduces overall weight and provides exceptional cushioning. It also features a highly abrasion-resistant sticky rubber outsole with custom artwork. The transparent sole reveals custom screen printed artwork which depicts on one shoe SSUR's boat ride from Russia to the other shoe which illustrates him arriving in Coney Island, also there is a small script at the heel on the sole of both shoes reading "From the Cradle to the Grave". To finish this classic piece off there are rose gold colored metal accents.
