With the inspiration from past Artist Projects™ alumni Arkitip Magazine and Michael Leon, DC is proud to announce the Arkleon, a creative shoe collaboration for the DC Artist Projects™ Series. An updated spin has been put on the existing 2005 Michael Leon Artist Projects™ shoe to create the newest limited edition project set to release in November 2006.

‘Working with Snyder (from Arkitip) over the years on our various co-branded projects has always been a good time,” said Damon Way, Executive Vice President of DC. “We tend to share a similar point of view with art and design which lends itself to a painless creative process and a very fulfilling result”.

In 2005, Michael Leon put his touch on the Artist Projects™ Series with his first shoe, The Leon. It is from this successful model that Arkitip choose to draw inspiration for the Arkleon.

The Arkleon’s simplistic shoe design features a custom designed mid top in water-resistant, breathable Wolverine® suede. The shoe will be released in limited quantity, with only 1500 pairs of shoes slated for production worldwide.

In celebration of the Arkleon’s release, DC, in partnership with Arkitip Magazine, will host an exclusive event at the Ace Hotel in Portland, WA, October 13th, 2006 showcasing the artwork of Michael Leon.
