It's interesting to see how brands evolve in order to keep not only their consumer base on-lock, but also how their product begins to develop a more polished and refined palette as it ages. Lemar & Dauley are growing into a brand more noted for their intricate love of materials and textures, dunking their b-ball inspired vintage look in favor of a new sophisticated steez. Take for instance the brash colab they rocked with adidas and the Streetball '08 last year, a winner and grinner at a time when cornea-crushing colour was the flavour of the month. Even their first collab with DC was a far cry from the more mature look of their second foray with DC as seen below. All of which proves that Lemar & Dauley are true fashion forecasters, hitting the 'luxe' market at just the right time with this sailing themed pair of DC Admirals. Higher than Joe Cocker and with a few neat embellishments, this pair adds to the growing trend of sailing shoes for 2009, as seen with the Proper x Vans Long Beach project.

DC x LEMAR & DAULEY DOUBLE LABEL PROJECT
The muse for the Lemar and Dauley Admiral was the idea of regatta sail boats. Fabrics and materials used on the sails originally inspired, but in the process of creating the shoe other elements began to reshape the vision to further address the lifestyle behind the idea. The shoe captures a metropolitan individual engaging in a beach bum mentality. Both color ways were created as a reflection of sand and concrete. The patterns on the side panels represent the art often depicted on regatta wind sails. The 'Lemar and Dauley' name was used to illustrate the names often detailed on the side of boats. The metal plate embossed with Braille and the reflective tape was used to illustrate touch and sight, both of which are necessary human senses when in the water. In the final attempt to brand the shoe, DC used the trademark houndstooth pattern associated with Lemar and Dauley.
